Budongo Forest is home to some 600-700 chimpanzees
Budongo Forest chimpanzees were first studied in the 1960's.
Kaniyo Pabidi Ecotourism site: An undisturbed tropical forest
of Ironwood and Mahogany trees within the boundaries of MFNP.
Activities: Chimpanzee tracking and birding. Birding special-Puvel's
Illadopisis is found nowhere else in E.Africa. Camping Ush3,000/-

If you plan only to visit the Eco-Tourism site at Kaniyo Pabidi
you will need to pass through the barrier to The Murchision
falls National park. The staff at the gate will require entrance
fees to be paid for the park entry. Should you take the time
to visit the Department of Forestry office in Masindi located
on the junction/turn off to Murchison Falls opposite the Shell
Service Station they will provide you with a letter to allow
you to enter the park for free to proceed to the Kaniyo Pabidi
Site.
Busingiro Ecotourism Site: Tropical forest and grassland.
Activities: Chimpanzee tracking and birding. For the birders
it is imperative to visit the 'Royal Mile' some 14 kms from
the Busingiro Eco-tourism site. Joshua and Vincent are the birding
specialists at Busingiro. To visit the 'Royal Mile' you must
pay your Forest entry at Busingiro and pick up your guide there.
Birding specials include Chocolate Backed Kingfisher and several
other Kingfisher species.

your Forest entry if you do not partake in an activity. Pricing
of the banda's are complex with a structure reflecting without

Alternative Accommodation:
Closer to the 'Royal Mile' is the Nyabyaya Forestry Collage
Guest House. Tel. 077 496700. The collage is located only 2
KM from the 'Royal Mile'. You will however need to collect a
guide from the Busingiro Eco-Tourism site and pay your Forest
Fees there.
